Long May You Run is our charity roast, which we soft launched at the Bluenose Marathon Night Owl Run, as sample bags for the runners who took part.
New Start Standardbreds (NSS) is a charity run on 100% volunteer operations, which launched in 2020. The NSS’ headquarters is based in Ontario and has a branch of dedicated volunteers in the Maritimes. These caring humans that make up NSS have a special love for Standardbreds, have taken up the cause to help these beautiful souls find a safe place to retire or launch a new career after departing from the track. NSS sees about 50% of the horses who’ve worked in the racing discipline find themselves in unfortunate circumstances like Joe here, a quiet gentleman who gave his all during his racing days.
